ILCAA Joint Research Project

Creating a Practice-based Platform in Multimodal Anthropology and Art

Overview | Duration: FY2024–2026

http://www.aa.tufs.ac.jp/en/projects/jrp/jrp298

This project gathers specialists in various fields, including cultural anthropology, visual/multimodal anthropology, art, curation, media art, and design, each of whom brings novel and distinct thoughts and experiences to bear on the project. Following current trends in visual anthropology and the arts, this project advances the formation of a cross-disciplinary platform enabling the exchange of knowledge and techniques. It will also create new approaches and methods of artistic production, ethnographic theory, and fieldwork drawing on various theories and methods, as well as engaging in practical collaborative work.
